Hollywoodbets Data Free and Free Mode: Login, App Download and What You Get

Hollywoodbets data free lets you bet with an empty phone. It opens with a finished data bundle and zero airtime, and from there you can log in, check the odds and place a bet. Hollywoodbets calls it Free Mode on the screen, most punters call it data free, and the two are the same thing.

Hollywoodbets gives you two ways in from its Go To Data Free page: a Free Mode website with nothing to install, or a Data Free app for Android phones. The website lives at www.datafree.hollywoodbets.net, and the www at the front matters, because the same address without it did not load at all when we tried it from South Africa on 27 September 2026. Hollywoodbets’ own Proceed To Data Free Site button uses the www address.

Free Mode was live when we read it as a phone on a South African connection on 26 and 27 September 2026, with “You are now in Free Mode” showing at the top of the screen. The site runs on the platform of Datafree Technologies, a South African data free company, which says a service on its platform stays reachable when you have zero airtime and zero data.

How to get to Hollywoodbets data free

Type www.datafree.hollywoodbets.net into your phone’s browser, with the www, to go straight to Free Mode.
Or open Hollywoodbets’ Go To Data Free page at www.hollywoodbets.net/go-to-data-free. It sits on the normal Hollywoodbets site, so opening it uses your data.
On that page, pick one of the two buttons. Download Data Free Android App gets the app file, and Proceed To Data Free Site opens the Free Mode website.
Check the top of the screen. It should say “You are now in Free Mode”.
Tap Login and enter your cell number and password, or tap Register if you are new to Hollywoodbets.

The website route needs no download and no space on your phone, so it suits an iPhone, a phone that is short of storage, or a phone with no data left for a download. Bookmark www.datafree.hollywoodbets.net once it opens, so you can go straight there next time.

Hollywoodbets data free login

Log in with the same details you always use. The Free Mode login form asks for your cell number and your password.
The login screen is inside free mode. Tapping Login opens it on a datafree.hollywoodbets.net address, so reaching it costs you no data.
Your regular account works. Hollywoodbets’ own steps for data free Aviator tell you to log in using your regular account details.
Logging in accepts the terms. The form says that by logging in you accept and agree to Hollywoodbets’ terms and conditions.

Under the password box sits a Forgot Login Details link. That link works differently from the rest of the login screen, and the next section explains what happens when you tap it.

Forgot your Hollywoodbets password?

Resetting a forgotten password is the one part of logging in that takes you out of Free Mode, so it uses your data. This is what we found when we tapped through it as a phone in South Africa on 27 September 2026:

Forgot Login Details sits under the login form. Tapping it brought up a notice saying “You are leaving a Datafree zone”, with the reset page on id.hollywoodbets.net, the normal Hollywoodbets address, behind a Continue button.
Go Back keeps you in Free Mode if you tapped the link by mistake.
The Change Password or Cell Number link at the top of the Free Mode screen brought up the notice “You are now leaving the Data-Free zone” when we tapped it while logged out, so changing your password or cell number that way uses data as well.
A new password needs at least 6 characters, with at least 1 number and 1 letter, under the rule Hollywoodbets shows on its Update Password form.

Do the reset on wifi or with a small amount of data, then go back to www.datafree.hollywoodbets.net to bet. Reset your password only through the Forgot Login Details link on Hollywoodbets’ own login page, which leads to the same id.hollywoodbets.net address that its Punters Challenge help page gives for a lost password.

Hollywoodbets data free app download

An Android app file from Hollywoodbets. The Download Data Free Android App button on the Go To Data Free page downloads an APK file straight from Hollywoodbets’ own server, hollywoodmedia.hollywoodbets.net.
Download it from Hollywoodbets. Their own Go To Data Free page has the button.
The download itself uses data. The file comes from a normal Hollywoodbets address, not a data free one, so do that part on wifi if you can.
The Free Mode banner leaves Free Mode. Tapping the Hollywoodbets App Download banner at the top of the Free Mode screen brought up the notice that you are leaving the Data-Free zone.
iPhone and Huawei phones have the main app. Hollywoodbets’ apps page says its betting app comes as an Android APK or from the Apple App Store or Huawei AppGallery. Only the Android file carries the Data Free label.
The website is enough to bet. The login and sign-up pages, the sports, Lucky Numbers and the Aviator tab are all on the Free Mode website.

On an iPhone, or a phone with no space left, use the Free Mode website at www.datafree.hollywoodbets.net, which opens in the phone’s browser.

Get the APK only from Hollywoodbets

The only safe place to get the Android app file is Hollywoodbets’ own Go To Data Free page. Steer clear of all of these:

APK download sites. Someone can change the file before it reaches you and you would never know.
A link from WhatsApp or Telegram, however well meant.
Adverts at the top of Google. Type the Hollywoodbets address yourself.
Anything calling itself faster, modded or unlocked. Hollywoodbets’ apps page lists its official apps, and a modded copy is not one of them.

What you can bet on in free mode

The Free Mode menu we read on 26 and 27 September 2026 lists these, from the top of the screen down:

Aviator. The crash game, from the Aviator tab at the top of the menu.
Shooting Star. Beside Aviator at the top of the menu.
Soccer. First of the sports, with a Today’s Soccer panel on the home screen.
Horse racing. Straight after soccer, with a Next Race panel on the home screen.
Lucky Numbers. With a Todays Lucky Numbers panel on the home screen.
Live In-Play. Betting while the game is running.
26 more sports. Tennis, rugby, cricket, eSoccer, golf, alpine skiing, American football, Aussie rules, bandy, baseball, basketball, boxing, cycling, darts, Counter-Strike and Dota esports, floorball, Formula 1, futsal, handball, ice hockey, MMA, motorsport, snooker, table tennis and volleyball, which makes 28 sports with soccer and horse racing.
Instant game tiles. Wheel Of Wonder, Zama Fruits, Plinko and Gold Rush sit in a strip on the home screen, and Plinko asked us to log in when we tapped it.
Bet Slip. It sits at the bottom of every Free Mode page, with options to load a bet or use Book A Bet.

Hollywoodbets’ blog announced data free Aviator on 7 August 2024 and says Hollywoodbets was the first betting operator in South Africa to offer it. Its steps are to visit the data free website, log in with your regular account details and tap the Aviator tab. The chat, my bets and top bet functions are switched off in the data free version, while auto-bet and auto-cashout still work.

Use the Aviator tab at the top of the Free Mode menu, which stayed on the data free address and asked us to log in to play. The Aviator tile on the Live Games page is a different route, and tapping it brought up the notice that you are leaving the Data-Free zone. Hollywoodbets’ Aviator page inside Free Mode says your winnings are your stake times the multiplier when you cash out, so a R10 stake cashed out at 3 times pays R30, and a bet you have not cashed out when the plane flies away is lost. The same page suggests starting at the minimum stake of R1.

What takes you out of Hollywoodbets free mode

Some links inside Free Mode take you out of it. Each time, Hollywoodbets shows the notice “You are now leaving the Data-Free zone. Would you like to continue?” with a Continue button and a Go Back button, and Go Back keeps you in Free Mode. We saw that notice on each of these:

Spina Zonke. The slots lobby, listed on the Live Games page.
Live Casino by Ezugi. The live dealer tables, on the same page.
Betgames Sport and Scratch Cards. Also on the Live Games page.
The Aviator tile on the Live Games page. The Aviator tab on the Free Mode home is the data free route.
Soccer Punters Challenge. Its tile on the Free Mode home. Hollywoodbets’ apps page calls the Punters Challenge a sports fantasy game across soccer and horse racing.
The app download banner. The download runs on a normal Hollywoodbets address.
The password links. Change Password or Cell Number shows this notice, and Forgot Login Details shows a similar one that reads “You are leaving a Datafree zone”, as the password section above sets out.

The Live Games page also lists Betgames, Split The Pot, Live Instant Win and Jika Sports, which we did not tap, so look for the leaving notice before you play them.

Registering a new Hollywoodbets account data free

The Register button sits inside Free Mode, and tapping it opens the sign-up page on a datafree.hollywoodbets.net address, so you can open a new account without spending data. Interbet data free and Betfred data free also put a Register or Sign Up button inside their data free sites. Hollywoodbets’ How To Register help page, which opens inside Free Mode, sets out the steps:

Tap Register. The sign-up page starts by asking whether you are a South African citizen.
Fill in your details, with a valid email address. Every field marked with a star is required.
Add your banking details. Hollywoodbets uses this account when you ask for a withdrawal.
Set a Maximum Daily Deposit Limit. You choose how much you are willing to spend each day, and the help page asks you to type the number without a Rand sign.
Agree to the terms, after saying how you found the site.
Hand in your FICA documents. Hollywoodbets says the law requires them before it activates your account. FICA is a copy of your ID or passport, and you can hand it in at any Hollywood branch, fax it to 086 673 2627 or email it to hwhelpline@hollywoodbets.net.
Then deposit. The How To Make A Deposit page is in the same Info / Help menu.

A driver’s licence is accepted only as a supporting document, for customers who have a temporary ID or a damaged one. If you use a Smart Card ID, send a picture of both the front and the back. If the sign-up form says your ID number is already in use, Hollywoodbets asks you to call its helpline on 087 353 7634.

How to know you are in free mode

Look at the top of the screen. It says “You are now in Free Mode”.
Check the address. Free Mode pages, including the login and sign-up pages, open on addresses that end in datafree.hollywoodbets.net.
Watch for the leaving notice. A link that goes outside Free Mode shows “You are now leaving the Data-Free zone” first, and Go Back keeps you in.
Use FULL SITE only when you mean to. The FULL SITE button at the top and the Go To Full Website link further down take you to the normal site, which uses your data.

The Free Mode message and the leaving notice are the two signs Hollywoodbets gives on screen, so look for them each time you tap into a new part of the site.

Hollywoodbets data free not working?

Hollywoodbets’ Free Mode pages give no troubleshooting steps, so these checks rest on what the Free Mode site itself shows. Run through them in order:

Check the address. Use www.datafree.hollywoodbets.net with the www. The same address without the www did not load from South Africa on 27 September 2026.
Switch wifi off to test it. On wifi your mobile bundle is not being used either way, so your data balance only tells you whether Free Mode is working when you are on the mobile network.
Look for the Free Mode message. If “You are now in Free Mode” has gone from the top of the screen, type the address again.
Go back from the leaving notice. If you tapped Continue on a “You are now leaving the Data-Free zone” notice, you are on the normal site and using data.
Check your network. Datafree Technologies, whose platform runs Free Mode, says it is reverse billed across all major South African networks. Hollywoodbets does not list the networks, so on a smaller network note your data balance before and after a visit.
Try the other route. If the website will not open, try the Data Free Android app from the Go To Data Free page, or the other way round.

Who pays for your data

The data still has to be paid for, and the bill goes to the business instead of to you. Hollywoodbets’ own pages do not explain the billing, but Datafree Technologies, whose platform serves www.datafree.hollywoodbets.net, sets out how its model works:

The business pays. Datafree describes its model as the business removing data costs for its users.
It is called reverse billing. Datafree says it is reverse billed across all major South African networks.
It works on a zero balance. Datafree says a platform on it stays reachable when users have zero airtime or data balance.
It needs no special SIM or bundle. Datafree says it does not rely on SIMs, airtime or data bundles.
The company is Datafree Technologies SA (Pty) Ltd, and the Free Mode address points at its hosts.

Datafree tells businesses that removing data costs keeps customers on their platforms longer, and that is the case it makes to a bookmaker for paying its punters’ data. Our guide to how data free betting works compares how each of the six bookmakers on this site handles it.

What the full Hollywoodbets app and site add

Everything in this section runs on the normal Hollywoodbets site or the main Hollywoodbets app, so it uses your data. Hollywoodbets’ app page lists what the app carries:

Sport with cash out. Live In-Play betting, horse racing and the option to cash out your soccer multiples.
Spina Zonke. Hundreds of slot games from studios such as Pragmatic Play, Habanero and Evolution, with Jackpot Race and Prize Drops promotions several times a week.
Casino games. Blackjack and Roulette, and gameshows such as Crazy Time and Megaball. Hollywoodbets’ apps page adds hundreds of live-dealer casino tables.

Deposits and withdrawals

Hollywoodbets’ How To Make A Deposit page opens inside Free Mode and lists the payment portals you can use on both its website and mobisite: OWNPAY, Stitch, PayFast, Wallet Doc, Zapper, Apple Pay, Ozow, Direct EFT, Peach Payments for card and Instant EFT, Virtual Card Services, PayU, Spot Money, SID EFT, Shoprite Money Market Account, Pay with Crypto and Nedbank Top Up Voucher.

If a deposit has not reached your account, Hollywoodbets asks you to email HWHelpline@hollywoodbets.net or call 087 353 7634 with the amount, the bank you paid into and the reference you used, which is your Hollywoodbets account number. For withdrawals, the Info / Help menu inside Free Mode carries the terms for 1Voucher, ShopriteMMA, Spot Money and the 1ForYou app, and the banking details you gave at sign-up are the account Hollywoodbets pays into.

We did not log in to make a payment, so we cannot say whether each payment page stays inside Free Mode. Check your data balance after your first deposit, or make it on wifi.

Licence, safety and support

Hollywoodbets’ footer says Hollywoodbets.net and Hollywoodbets.mobi are licensed by the Gauteng Gambling Board, the Limpopo Gambling Board and the Mpumalanga Economic Regulator, with specific products licensed by the KwaZulu-Natal Gaming and Betting Board and the Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board. The footer lists five provincial licences, including these three:

Gauteng: licence BRA-024 (Boksburg), issued 17 March 2009.
Mpumalanga: licence 9-2-1-00051 (Malahleni), issued 26 October 2020.
Western Cape: licence 10000107-029 (Vasco), issued 1 November 2023.

The Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board’s own list of licence holders names Hollywood Sportsbook Western Cape (Pty) Ltd among its bookmakers. Responsible gambling tools

Hollywoodbets’ Responsible Gambling page opens inside Free Mode, so you can read it on an empty bundle. These are the limits and breaks Hollywoodbets offers:

A daily deposit limit. You set a Maximum Daily Deposit Limit when you register, though Hollywoodbets’ help page says it is an indication and does not stop you spending more.
Temporary suspension. Your account is suspended for at least 1 month.
Self-exclusion. Your account is suspended for at least 3 months.
Permanent self-exclusion. Your account is closed and any money in it is returned to you.

To ask for any of these, email selfexclusion@hollywoodbets.net with the period you want. When a suspension ends, the account does not switch back on by itself, so you have to ask for it to be reactivated. The page also links to a Self-Check Quiz, and it says that if you need outpatient treatment from the National Responsible Gambling Programme’s medical teams, the programme covers the cost.

Is Hollywoodbets data free safe?
