Interbet Data Free: What It Covers and How to Use It

Interbet data free lives at datafree.interbet.co.za, a version of the Interbet website with Data Free in its page title, and you use it in your phone browser to bet on horse racing and the Tote, the Soccer 6, 10 and 13 pools, numbers and pre-match sport. Interbet’s own terms say the offer is only available on MTN, Vodacom, Cell C and Telkom. We read Interbet’s terms, deposit options, Tote and Soccer 6 pages on the data free address from a phone over a South African connection, and this guide sets out what the site carries, how to join and pay in, and which parts of Interbet fall outside its Data Free terms.

Interbet International (Pty) Ltd, the company behind it, says it has served horse racing and sports betting customers since 2000, and it is licensed by the Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board.

What Interbet data free covers

The data free site runs on a separate address, and Interbet’s terms give it a section headed Interbet Data Free. Those terms say the Data Free offering is only available on pre-match sport, horse racing at fixed odds and on the Tote, soccer tote and numbers, and only on the MTN, Vodacom, Cell C and Telkom networks.

  • Works in your browser. It is a website, so you open it in your phone browser. It also shows an App available! prompt with an Install button, the same prompt Interbet’s Betting App page tells Android users to tap to put the app on their home screen.
  • Racing and the pools come first. The Featured row on the home page has Refer a Friend, Loyalty Points, Tote and Soccer 6 10 13, and the All Sport list starts with horse racing.
  • Casino and Aviator are on the main site. The data free menu has no Casino, Aviator or Live Sport link, while the main interbet.co.za menu has all of them.
  • Live betting is outside the terms. The data free home describes Interbet’s live betting, but in-play is not in the list the Data Free terms cover, so check your data balance if you bet while a match is running.
  • The terms can change. Interbet says it may change, postpone or cancel the Data Free platform and its terms at any time and without notice.

Interbet’s pages do not say which of the other pages on the data free address, such as the loyalty or deposit pages, are free of data charges, so look at your data balance before and after your first session on your own SIM.

Using the data free site on a phone

Open datafree.interbet.co.za and the home page starts with Login and Register, Interbet’s line calling itself South Africa’s most trusted and longest serving betting site, an Enter button and a Need Help? Chat Now link. Below that come Highlights, the Featured row with its four tiles, and the All Sport list, which names horse racing and 18 other sports from soccer, rugby, tennis and cricket to futsal, MMA, snooker and volleyball. A Welcome to Interbet! section at the bottom describes the Tote, the Soccer 6 zone and live betting.

The menu on the inner pages reads Login, Register, Contact, Live Chat, Deposit, Tote, Soccer 6, Horses, Soccer Zone, All Sport and Loyalty. The footer links to Deposit Options, Betting Basics, Betting Rules, Fees & Limits, the terms and Responsible Gambling, and carries Interbet’s licence line and the responsible gambling helpline. The home, login, register, Tote, Soccer 6, loyalty, refer-a-friend, deposit, fees and limits and terms pages all opened on the data free address without signing in when we read them as an iPhone 15 on a South African connection.

How to reach the Interbet data free site

  • Type datafree.interbet.co.za into your phone browser. The main interbet.co.za pages we read carry no link to it, so go to the address directly.
  • Check the address. It must begin with datafree. Interbet’s terms say you need a positive data balance to open interbet.co.za or interbet.mobi before going on to the data free platform, so those addresses use your data.
  • Bookmark it. Once you have the data free address saved, you go straight in every time.

How to join and log in on Interbet data free

The Login and Register buttons sit at the top of the data free site, so you can sign in or join without leaving the data free address. Interbet’s terms say you need a valid Interbet account to use the Data Free offering, and Interbet’s FAQ says the mobile site and the app use the same login details as desktop.

  • Log in with your username and password. The login page has a password reset link, and a Register link if you have no account yet.
  • Register on a two-step form. The ACCOUNT step asks for your name, surname, email address, mobile number, username and password, and the FICA step follows it.
  • Activate the account from the link Interbet sends you by SMS after you register.
  • Get verified. Interbet’s FAQ says South African customers are FICA verified automatically from the ID number entered at registration and the address details given at withdrawal, and that you can deposit and bet straight after registering.

Interbet does not say whether the Register page itself is free of data charges, so check your data balance after you join. Betfred and Hollywoodbets have a Sign Up or Register button on their data free sites too.

What you can bet on data free

Interbet built its data free site around horse racing and the Soccer pools, and each has its own page on the data free address.

  • Horse racing on the Tote. Interbet’s Tote page says you bet directly into the TAB Tote pools, with Win, Place, Each-way, Swinger, Exacta, Trifecta, Quartet, Place Accumulator, Jackpot, Pick 6 and BiPot bets. It lists Greyville, Scottsville, Kenilworth, Durbanville, Turffontein, Vaal and Fairview as its South African venues, and the minimum Tote bet is R6.
  • Fixed odds racing. Fixed odds horse racing sits on the same site as the Tote pools, and Interbet’s Horse Racing zones carry daily racecards, results, podcasts and a racing blog at no charge.
  • Soccer 6. You predict the results of all six matches, a bet with one option per match costs R6, and Interbet gives the record payout as R233,824.
  • Soccer 10. Ten matches at R2 a bet, with payouts for 9 correct as well, and a record payout of R2,106,857.
  • Soccer 13. Three jackpot pools every week at R2 a combination, with payouts for 10, 11 and 12 correct too. Interbet says Saturday’s pool averages R20 million to R30 million and the midweek and Sunday pools R10 million to R15 million, with a guaranteed R10 million if only one ticket gets all 13 right.
  • Pre-match sport. Soccer, rugby, tennis, cricket, motor sport, basketball, boxing, darts and the rest of the All Sport list, from R10 on a single.

Interbet’s Fees and Limits page caps wins on a sport single at R5,000 per market, a limit it calls negotiable. Live betting, which the Data Free terms do not cover, starts at R2 a bet with wins capped at R3,000 per market. Any bet or group of bets by one client is limited to R500,000 in winnings in 24 hours, except on the Tote or where a higher limit is stated, and winning horse racing bets with South African bookmakers carry a 6% government withholding tax.

Offers and loyalty points

Interbet’s promotions page on the main site offers new customers a R25 Spin Bonus when they sign up, and two first deposit offers, a 100% Sport Bonus match and a 100% Spin Bonus match, each up to R2,000. Read the How It Works terms for the offer on that page before you deposit.

  • Loyalty points. At Club level you earn 5 points for every R2 you stake on a losing bet, and every 1000 points redeem for R1 in betting credits, so R2,000 of losing stakes earns 5,000 points, which is R5 in credits. Silver, Gold and Platinum add 25%, 50% and 100% extra points, bets at odds of 1/10 or lower earn none, and points expire after 90 days.
  • Refer a Friend. Interbet’s BuddyBonus gives you and each buddy R25 in betting credits. You must deposit and bet at least R50 in the 7 days before you enter your buddy’s details, and your buddy must FICA, deposit and stake at least R25 within 7 days.

Adding Interbet’s app to your home screen

Interbet’s Betting App installs from your phone browser: its app page and FAQ give Chrome and Safari steps rather than a Google Play or App Store link, and the FAQ says the app is free to download and use on Android and iOS. The app page says you install it once, can turn on push notifications and save on data, and the FAQ describes the app as optimised to use minimal data. Interbet does not describe the app as data free, so use the datafree.interbet.co.za address when your bundle is low.

  • Android: in Chrome, tap Install when the App Available! prompt appears, confirm, and the app is added to your home screen.
  • iPhone: in Safari, tap the share icon, then Add to Home Screen, then Add.

Depositing and withdrawing on Interbet

Interbet’s terms say you can deposit from the data free site, but credit and debit card deposits redirect you to a site that needs data. The Deposit Options page on the data free address lists these methods:

  • Vouchers. OTT Voucher, 1ForYou, Easyload and Blu Voucher, each up to R3,000 a day, so one voucher type can load up to R21,000 in a week. 1ForYou vouchers are sold at over 135,000 flash traders and at PEP, Ackermans, Shoprite, Checkers, OK, USAVE and House & Home.
  • Internet transfer or EFT through one of the 5 major banks, with the bank details shown under Deposit once you log in.
  • Ozow instant EFT, including Ozow Capitec.
  • Visa and Mastercard with 3D-Secure, and a 1.9% administration fee on credit card deposits.
  • Walk-in bank deposits, which Interbet says carry higher fees.

The main interbet.co.za deposit page also lists 4 All Voucher, Interbet Voucher, Apple Pay and Samsung Pay. Withdrawals start at R100, and Interbet’s FAQ says local payments reach your bank in 2 to 3 hours, first withdrawals take 24 to 48 hours while the account is verified, and Interbet charges no withdrawal fee, though your bank may charge its own.

Interbet’s terms single out card deposits as the ones that redirect to a page needing data, and they say nothing either way about vouchers, EFT or Ozow, so check your data balance after your first top-up by any route.

Licence, safety and support

The footer of the data free site says Interbet International (Pty) Ltd is licensed by the Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board as both a bookmaker and a manufacturer, with bookmaker licence 10083472-023 expiring on 30 November 2026, and the board’s own list of licence holders includes Interbet International (Pty) Ltd among its bookmakers. The footer also says Interbet’s software is certified by the South African Bureau of Standards under SABS 1718 part 4.

Interbet’s support team is on Live Chat, at support@interbet.co.za and on 021 137 8274, and the data free home has a Need Help? Chat Now link.

Interbet’s Responsible Gambling page offers a cooling off period of at least 7 days and self-exclusion for at least 6 months, and for permanent self-exclusion it refers you to the Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board at betting@wcgrb.co.za. Interbet’s Data Free terms also exclude self-excluded people, under-18s and anyone who is not a South African citizen or legal resident.

Our verdict on Interbet data free

Interbet data free suits you if you bet on horse racing, the Tote or the Soccer 6, 10 and 13 pools from your phone, because those are the products its Data Free terms cover and its home page puts first. You can join and log in on the same address, and vouchers let you top up without a card redirect.

Live betting, the casino and Aviator are not part of the Data Free offering, and card deposits take you to a page that needs data. Keep to pre-match sport, racing and the pools when your bundle is low, and check your data balance after your first session.
